8 Rooftops to Spend Summer Days in Chicago

Rooftop season in Chicago has opened just in time for the summer and gathering safely with friends who you probably missed while staying at home. Without further ado, here are our 10 favorite rooftops that are already opened-- with some new safety precautions to boot:


Enjoy your favorite mezze, spreads and cocktails on Aba’s rooftop patio. Reservations are required via Tock with a $50 deposit, which will be applied toward your bill. Each reservation is limited to 1.5 hours, and seating is limited to groups of six or less.

Bottom Lounge

While concerts are not yet available at this West Loop music venue, you can enjoy a burger and a beer at their rooftop bar.


Sip a craft beer or your favorite bourbon basking in the sun-- weather permitting. Reserve in advanced to enjoy their roofdeck garden experience during these seating times: 
  • Mon-Thurs: 5pm, 7pm, 9pm
  • Fri: 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, 9pm
  • Sat-Sun: 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm

LH Rooftop at London House

Enjoy an American menu and signature cocktails with city and water views at the rooftop of the London House, a luxury lifestyle hotel.


Reservation required at the country’s largest rooftop bar. Relax with seasonal cocktails and sweeping water views.

Utopian Tailgate

De-stress with Utopian Tailgate's cheerful vibe and mini tabletop games. Reservations are required, maximum time limit for table seating is two hours.

VU Rooftop Lounge

This South Loop rooftop just revamped their food and drink program. Menus can be viewed through QR codes posted on each table. Book your table via 7 Rooms.
