10 Hotspots for Hot Cocktails to Heat up the New York Winter

Nothing makes you as cozy as a hot spiked cider in a chilly New York winter to brighten up your spirits. Hot cocktails have always been a winter favorite, from the classic hot toddy to the spiced Mexican hot chocolate. Here are the hottest (pun unintended) hot cocktails we picked out.

Chef John DeLucie and lead pizzaiolo Erasmo ‘Mino’ Lassandro offer a tasty menu of wood-fired pizzas, pastas, free range chicken, NY Strip Steak, Atlantic Salmon and Wood Fired Rosemary Wings. The massive 10,000 square foot, multi-level Italian restaurant, wine bar and biergarten is complete with a rooftop. Sip, Stir, Cuddle is a  hot toddy from mixologist Jessica Dure, made with Vecchia Tres Botti Brandy, Rye Whiskey, Amaro Montenegro, honey, lemon, baking spices and Angostura bitters for guests to enjoy while dining indoors, outdoors or to-go.

Amali features seasonal Mediterranean fare and wines that are locally sourced. It features a hot buttered toddy with peach brandy called the Lovers & Liars. The cocktail includes Rockey’s liqueur, hot orange saffron tea, honey and butter.

Refined and hearty menu from with ingredients from New York’s farmers markets. Featuring favorites like Gnocchi Rosa, Triangoli and Cacia O Pepe all delivered on Caviar. The favorites for a hot drink are Charlie’s Toddy with a Japanese whisky, hot cider with scotch and a hot chocolate with bourbon.


Located above the Sanctuary Hotel, this gorgeous rooftop unveiled a Hot Toddy menu, which includes an Apple Cheer Hot Toddy with lemon, cinnamon syrup, black tea, apple cider and bourbon, Bailey’s Hot Toddy with black tea, agave and Bailey’s, and a Hibiscus Hot Toddy with black tea, hibiscus syrup, lemon, agave and bourbon. To warm up guests upon arrival, Haven will offer guests a complimentary (non-alcoholic) shot of hot chocolate or hot tea.  

Kissaki is the culinary experience honoring Japanese tradition and doesn't fall behind on serving hot cocktails in teacups. The Tokushima Toddy is made with Maker’s Mark, Passionfruit, Yuzu, Sake, Apple Caramel and Ginger Beer. 

Our favorite French bistro named after the puppy LouLou serves up all kinds of hot cocktail magic, from a Valrhona melted hot chocolate with tequila, brown sugar and orange zest to the spicy hot toddy with bourbon, apple cider, ginger, orange & lemon zest, star anise, salt, aleppo spice.

Italian coastal seafood with a luscious interior and floral exterior, Michelin-starred Marea is offering up a traditional hot chocolate with marshmallows and spiked with whiskey! Perfectly matching their array of seafood.

It's winter rooftop season going strong throughout New York! This Barbied-out après ski set up at the Moxy Time Square has neon pink log walls, faux pink taxidermy, and more ski themed items, including a boozy pink hot chocolate!

This amazing cocktail at one of the most historic speakeasies in Harlem features Trois Rivieres Agricole Blanc Rum, Rockey’s Milk Punch, Apple Cider, Lemon, Maple, Angostura & Old-Fashioned Bitters. There is also Captain Cook’s Toddy that features the eucalyptus and allspice with amaro.

New kid on the block Ten Hope Outdoor Garden opens it's 2,500 square-foot vine-laced open air patio provides ample seating in a green environment with fresh air, fresh food and with entry from the street. It offers a hot toddy called Todd’s Hot Date with brandy, bourbon, date molasses, lemon and clove that diners can enjoy dearly in the winter.
