Food Trends and Food Finds from the Fancy Food Show New York
Every year, the Specialty Food Association’s Fancy Food Show provides a glimpse into the products, flavors, and ideas influencing the future of food, and the 2025 event in New York delivered on that promise. Through Food Network and Bon Appétit, we had the chance to discover some of the industry’s most exciting emerging trends, and each one as inventive as it was flavorful. Below are a few of the standout products that captured our attention. Presented in no particular order, these selections highlight bold creativity, unique flavor profiles, and the evolving direction of culinary innovation.
- PinkGlow pineapple, the viral pink pineapple which is sweeter and tangier.
- Golden Ticket Dubai Chocolate, the OG of Dubai Chocolate in the US and Just The Fun Part Waffle Cone Tips, because who knew you could get just the tips? A whole brand dedicated just to this.
- Jawhart Alsharq Baklava for the baklava lover in me, this was truly the finest.
- Blake Hills Preserves with their epic chocolate spreads, which amidst their array of jams, are a personal favorite. Plus, Fine and Raw Hazelnut Spreads, for the love of hazelnuts, an underrated but delectable nut. And then there was Divina Date Spread, whisking me back to Dubai where date sugar is a thing.
- Mae Fine Foods chocolates and bonbons with the finest varieties and designs. And Valrhona Chocolate, one of the first ones I was introduced to in my food critic days.
- Bristot Espresso Coffee, from Italy. Somehow the espresso hits just right, before pasta from Italy, because for those that know our favorite pasta is gnocchi, there's the inventively packaged and very tasty Mamma Emma Gnocchi. There were also Valnerina Tartufi Truffle Condiments, because I absolutely love all things truffle.
- Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey Coffee, which we've had season after season and it never misses! But my favorite in this variety is Elmhurst Nut Milks, which we discovered way back in Fancy Food Show San Francisco, and here we are with ample more varieties!
- Sunnygem Almond Oil, because who knew? Also it doubles up as a face oil.
- Straight from Sardinia and namingly the best, there's Smeraldina Water from Sardinia.
- Evergreen Market Atlanta Pickles, because one of the most trendy things I saw this season were the pickles. And these came with comical names too. There were chips with Poshi Snacks and the powderous and staple Hold The Pickle Seasonings.
- The hot sauces were aplenty but my favorite pics were the blend of creativity - in flavor, naming and packaging - with taste. Hell’s Kitchen Hot Sauce, the bomb shaped The General’s Hot Sauce, SOSS Bros, Sauce Leopard for obvious reasons since I love leopards, Tabanero Hot Sauce and the spice variant in POP Mustards, which market themselves as the caviar of mustard. Plus, my favorite condiment of all, Everiday Foods Sauces combining dates with spice.
- In terms of drinks, there were several varieties in the soda alternatives, sparkling variety. Some of my favorites included East Coast Kombucha Company kombucha, the Kimchi Soda (my favorite!), a Calamansi Spritzer, the Säti Soda, a curious mix of coffee and lemonade called Coffeenade, the yuzu and mushroom flavor variant of High Ground Elixir and Fresh Fizz Sodas.
- Taking cue from the spice variant is the honey collection. The OG is Mike's Hot Honey which I shamelessly use on pizza, but there's also the curiously named Two Ugly Mugs, Savannah Bee Company's cinnamon honey and the borderline medicinal Honey Droplet Manuka Honey Drops
- The last section was dessert, which while we may have been too full for, was a favorite due to Whipnotic Whipped Cream and Melona Ice Cream.
