We Are Occu-Pied with these 14 Pies from New York

 Excuse me because we are occu-PIED :).

An American classic, baked fruit and dessert pies are a year round favorite, especially for fall. Here are 14 pies in New York that'll sweeten up any holiday.

Abu's Bakery
@abus_bakery
The navy bean pie at this Bed-Stuy favorite is essentially mashed beans topped with Middle Eastern spices, paying homage to it's roots. This family-owned spot is known for its navy bean pie, popular since the 1930s. Other favorites include pecan and coconut custard, all of which are decadent.

La Bicyclette Bakery
@labicyclettebakery_nyc
The fun story here is that a Frenchman named Florent Andreytchenko trained in baking and left at 21 to bake around the world until opening La Bicyclette in New York! With classic French breads and croissants, there are also seasonal pies for the holidays. Our favorite is the Apple Tarte Normande and the pear frangipane tart with almond pastry cream, an homage to French roots.

Bien Cuit means "well done" in French, and it refers to both the dark, caramelized crust on the loaves and the spot's approach to baking. Made fresh daily, the pie selection is imaginative and unique, including the spicy garam masala pumpkin pie and the maple bourbon pecan pie.

Bubby's
@bubbys
What started off as a pie place actually started as a Thanksgiving pop up in 1990! It is an all American classic. By hand, from scratch, seasonal, local, fresh, American food with seasonal berry pies worth indulging in, bite by bite.

@citycakes
Our cookie favorite, this cute spot serves the a host of pies, like a dark horse salted double chocolate pie, an OPB Overload pie, a pumpkindoodle pie and a salted caramel apple. Essentially, our favorite cookie flavors in pie format for the season!

Four & Twenty Blackbirds
@birdsblack
Handmade home style pies by sisters Melissa and Emily Elsen who have also released a book of uncommon pie recipes! From salty honey to bittersweet chocolate pecan and matcha custard, these are classic pies with a twist that make them inseparably indulgent, day after day! Seasonally try the brown butter pumpkin or bittersweet chocolate pecan.

A classic bakery with the daytime sourdough breads, buttery croissants, and even a pizza arcade! But we're here for their classic pie specials for Thanksgiving which include sumptuous homestyle pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies.

Little Pie Company
@littlepiecompany
This Hell’s Kitchen bakery serves up all sorts of pies, seasonal and classics, with the apple pie being a favorite, available in sugar free variations too. For those who can't pick, try the sampler!

A nod to the founders' mothers from the South of France and North America, as the name means mother in French. A favorite cafe and bakery, the thanksgiving variety is equally sumptuous, with the unique spiced apple pie and the delicious mixed berry pie.

@marthascountrybakery
A family-owned bakery and cafe which makes cheesecakes and pies alike, in fun flavors of cranberry walnut, banana cream, cherry and apple. Plus, coffee to match!

Mel
@melthebakery
New bakery Mel serves sourdough loaves and pastries on the daily, but includes a selection of fruity pies for the holidays, alongside brown butter pumpkin, apple quince, and pecan pie.

Petee's Café
@peteespie
The cute cafe has a cyclic variety of great pies by the slice, all made with fresh ingredients. Fun fact, the owner was born in a pie-making family, too! Owner Petra 'Petee' Paredez is a native to the pie world, and sources fair trade sweeteners, organic flour, grass fed cow butter and fruits from local farms. Fun fact, they serve booze with slices in store too.

Pies 'n' Thighs
@piesnthighs
Williamsburg’s favorite spot for American home food with fried chicken, baked goods and an award winning apple pie (as well as award winning doughnuts!). Try the banana cream pie, which is ace.
